About West African CFA
The West African CFA franc is used by Benin, Burkina Faso, Cote dIvoire, Guinea-Bissau, Mali, Niger, Senegal, and Togo. Issued by the Central Bank of West African States (BCEAO) in Dakar. The plan to introduce the eco as a shared currency for ECOWAS has been repeatedly delayed. The West African CFA banknotes feature modern African architecture and education themes. The coins feature traditional African motifs and wildlife.
