Daniel Webster Half
About Daniel Webster Half
A commemorative half dollar that was authorized but never actually minted. Daniel Webster, the famous senator and orator, was to be honored on a commemorative coin. The authorization passed Congress but the coins were never produced due to lack of interest from the organizing commission. This is one of several authorized but unissued commemorative coins in American numismatic history. The authorization expired without any coins being struck.
