The Swiss 20 franc gold coin featuring Vreneli, the informal name for the head of Liberty in the Swiss Alps. Officially called Helvetia but universally known as Vreneli. Designed by Fritz Landry. Contains 5.8 grams of pure gold. Minted from 1897 to 1935, then restripped in 1947 and 1949. Over 58 million were minted. The Vreneli is popular with bullion investors for its beautiful design and reasonable premium over spot gold price. The obverse features Helvetia with braided hair and mountains behind.
