About Canadian Voyageur Dollar
The voyageur dollar featured a fur trader and aboriginal paddling a canoe loaded with trade goods. Designed by Emanuel Hahn. The northern lights appear in the background. The design was used on all Canadian silver dollars from 1936 to 1966 and on the nickel dollar from 1968 to 1987. The canoe design represents the fur trade that built Canada. One of the most iconic coin designs in Canadian history.
