About US Philippine Coin
Coins minted for the Philippines under US administration from 1903 to 1945. Featured a Filipino man at an anvil with Mayon Volcano on the reverse. The 1906-S one peso is the key date with only 201,000 minted. The 50 centavos from 1903 to 1906 contain 90 percent silver. The 1903-1912 coinage is considered US colonial coinage and is collected alongside regular US series. Production ended when the Philippines gained independence in 1946.
