About British Two Pence
Introduced with decimalisation in 1971. Featured the Badge of the Prince of Wales, a plume of ostrich feathers. The two pence coin has remained largely unchanged since introduction. Made of copper plated steel since 1992 to reduce costs. The 1983 New Pence error coin is valuable to collectors. The coin is commonly called the tuppence.
