About UK Twenty Pence

A small heptagonal coin introduced to bridge the gap between the 10p and 50p. Featured the crowned Tudor rose on the reverse initially, later replaced by the royal shield. The 2008 undated 20p error, where the old and new die types were combined with no date, is worth about 50 pounds. Over 3 billion have been minted. The 20p is one of the most commonly used British coins. Like the 50p, its heptagonal shape aids identification by touch.
