About Siamese Tical
The traditional silver coin of Siam, later renamed the baht. The tical was a silver bullet money or flat coin depending on the period. The tical system included the baht, salung, and fuang denominations. King Chulalongkorn modernized the coinage with European style flat coins in the 1860s. The tical was equivalent to the baht, which is still the Thai currency. The Siamese monetary system was decimalized in 1897.
