The most successful coin program in history. Five quarters per year from 1999 to 2008, each featuring a state design. Delaware was first, Hawaii last. Over 34 billion state quarters were minted. The program generated over 4 billion dollars in seigniorage profit for the Mint. An estimated 147 million Americans collected the series. Designs ranged from Delawares Caesar Rodney to Hawaiis Kamehameha I.
