About Standing Liberty Quarter
Featured Liberty standing in a gateway, holding a shield and an olive branch. The Type 1 exposed Libertys breast, causing controversy. The Type 2 added chain mail. The 1916 Standing Liberty quarter had a mintage of only 52,000 and is very scarce. The 1927-S is another key date. Designed by Hermon Atkins MacNeil. The design was replaced by the Washington quarter in 1932.
