About Slovak Koruna
The Slovak koruna replaced the Czechoslovak koruna after the dissolution of Czechoslovakia. Slovakia adopted the euro in 2009, the second post communist country after Slovenia. The koruna was pegged to the euro from 2005. Slovak banknotes featured historical figures including saints Cyril and Methodius. The koruna was replaced at 30.126 koruna per euro. Slovakia was the first country from the Visegrad Group to adopt the euro.
