About Slovenian Tolar
The tolar replaced the Yugoslav dinar after Slovenian independence in 1991. Named after the thaler, the historical silver coin. Slovenia was the first post Yugoslav state to introduce its own currency. The tolar was the first post communist currency to adopt a managed float. Slovenia adopted the euro in 2007, the first former communist country to do so. The tolar was replaced at 239.64 tolar per euro.
