The silver bullion coin of Britain, first issued in 1997. Contains one troy ounce of 99.9 percent pure silver. Features Britannia on the reverse, the female personification of Britain. The design has changed annually since 2013. Earlier issues used the standing Britannia design. The Royal Mint produces advanced security features including a holographic latent image. Over 20 million silver Britannias have been minted.
