About Austrian Schilling
Replaced the Austro-Hungarian krone in 1925 after the collapse of the empire. Abolished after the Anschluss in 1938 and replaced by the reichsmark. Reintroduced in 1945 after World War II at 1 schilling to 1 reichsmark. Pegged to the deutsche mark from the 1970s. The schilling was one of Europes most stable currencies. Replaced by the euro in 2002 at 13.7603 schillings per euro.
