About Serbian Dinar
The dinar was the currency of medieval Serbia, revived in modern times. The medieval Serbian dinar was modeled on the Venetian grosso. Modern Serbia reintroduced the dinar in 1868. The Yugoslav dinar replaced it during the Yugoslav period. Serbia resumed issuing the dinar after the dissolution of the state union with Montenegro in 2006. Serbian banknotes feature scientist Nikola Tesla on the 100 dinar note.
