About US Quarter Eagle
The two and a half dollar gold coin. The 1796 quarter eagle had no stars on the obverse. The 1808 quarter eagle is one of the rarest US gold coins with only 2,710 minted. The Liberty Head quarter eagle was minted from 1840 to 1907. The Indian Head quarter eagle of 1908 to 1929 used the same incuse design as the half eagle. The 1911-D quarter eagle had a mintage of only 55,680 and is the key date of the Indian series.
