About Qatari Riyal
Introduced when Qatar and Dubai jointly issued currency. Qatar adopted its own riyal after Dubai joined the UAE. Pegged to the US dollar at 3.64 riyals to 1 dollar. Qatari banknotes feature traditional boats, architecture, and flora. The Qatar Central Bank was established in 1993. The riyal is fully convertible. Qatars vast natural gas reserves make it one of the wealthiest countries per capita.
