The American Platinum Eagle is the only US bullion coin with a proof version that changes design annually. The reverse of the proof coin has featured American values including Freedom, Liberty, and Justice through different artistic interpretations. The 1 oz platinum eagle contains 99.95 percent pure platinum. The West Point mint produces all platinum eagles. The series has low mintages compared to gold and silver eagles, making some dates valuable.
