About Burmese Peacock Coin
Coins of Burma featuring the peacock, the symbol of the Konbaung Dynasty. The last Burmese coins were issued under King Thibaw before the British conquest in 1885. After annexation, Burma used Indian rupees. The peacock coins are rare and represent the last native coinage of Burma. The 1 mu coin featured a standing peacock on one side and Buddhist motifs on the other.
