About Parthian Drachm
The silver coin of the Parthian Empire, Romes great rival in the East. Featured the king in Parthian dress with a beard and diadem. The reverse showed the king seated, receiving a bow from Apollo. Parthian drachms were remarkably consistent in design for nearly 500 years. They circulated widely along the Silk Road. The steady weight and purity made them trusted trade coins from Rome to China.
