About US National Bank Note
Paper currency issued by nationally chartered banks under the National Banking System. Each bank deposited government bonds and received bank notes in return. Featured the banks name and location. Over 12,000 banks issued notes. The First National Bank of any given town is highly collected. Large size notes were issued until 1929. Small size notes continued until 1935. National bank notes created a uniform national currency.
