About US Morgan Dollar
Designed by George T. Morgan, featuring Lady Liberty on the obverse and an eagle on the reverse. Minted from 1878 to 1904 and again in 1921. Struck from silver mined from the Comstock Lode in Nevada. The Pittman Act of 1918 melted over 270 million silver dollars. Surviving Morgans are highly collectible, with rare dates worth tens of thousands of dollars. The Carson City mint mark CC is especially prized by collectors.
