About Spanish Millonet
A large copper coin minted during the Napoleonic era in Spain. The millonet was worth one thousandth of a duro or Spanish dollar. The coin was part of an attempt to decimalize Spanish currency. The experiment was short lived. The millonet is a curiosity of the revolutionary era when many European countries experimented with decimal coinage. The design featured the Spanish crown and denomination.
