About Mercury Dime
Featured Liberty wearing a winged cap, often mistaken for the god Mercury. Designed by Adolph Weinman. The reverse shows a bundle of rods and an axe, symbols of Roman authority. The 1916-D Mercury dime is the key date with only 264,000 minted. Considered one of the most beautiful US coin designs. Minted until 1945. The 1942 over 41 error is a popular variety.
