About Maria Theresa Thaler
One of the most successful coins ever minted. Featured the bust of Empress Maria Theresa. After her death in 1780, the date was frozen and the coin was continuously restruck. Still minted today by the Austrian Mint in Vienna. Accepted by Bedouin tribes long after colonial currencies came and went.
