About Lithuanian Litas
The litas was introduced in 1922 after Lithuanian independence. The Soviet occupation replaced it with the ruble. Lithuania restored the litas in 1993. The litas was pegged to the euro from 2002. Lithuania adopted the euro in 2015 at 3.4528 litas per euro. Lithuanian banknotes featured historical figures and national symbols. The Bank of Lithuania was established in 1922 and restored in 1990.
