About Liberty Head Nickel
Also called the V nickel for the Roman numeral five on the reverse. The 1913 Liberty Head nickel is one of the most famous rarities in American numismatics, with only five known. One sold for over 4.5 million dollars. The 1883 nickel without the word CENTS led to fraud as the coin was gold plated and passed as a five dollar gold piece. The Mint quickly added CENTS to the reverse.
