About Kushanshah Coin
Coins of the Kushano-Sasanian governors who ruled Bactria and parts of northern India for the Sasanian Persian Empire. Featured Sasanian style busts with fire altars on the reverse. The Kushanshahs were subordinate rulers appointed by the shahanshah. Their coinage shows the transition from Kushan to Sasanian control of Central Asia. The coins are found in Afghanistan and Pakistan and represent the easternmost spread of Sasanian monetary influence.
