About Kushan Gold Coin
Gold coins of the Kushan Empire, which ruled Central Asia and northern India. Featured the king standing and making offerings over a fire altar, reflecting Zoroastrian influence. Some Kushan coins feature Buddha, among the earliest depictions of Buddha in human form. The Kushans controlled the Silk Road trade between Rome, Persia, India, and China. Their gold coins were inspired by Roman aurei received in trade.
