About Jordanian Dinar
The Jordanian dinar replaced the Palestinian pound. Pegged to the US dollar at 0.709 dinars to 1 dollar. The dinar is one of the most stable currencies in the Middle East. Jordanian banknotes feature King Abdullah II and historical sites including Petra. The Central Bank of Jordan was established in 1964. Jordan maintains strict capital controls to protect the dinars peg. The dinar is fully backed by foreign reserves.
