About Indian 10 Rupee Coin
A bimetallic coin with a nickel brass center and copper nickel ring. Features 15 spokes on the reverse representing the 15 official languages of India at the time of design. The obverse features the Lion Capital of Ashoka. Over 3 billion have been minted. The 10 rupee coin faced initial resistance from shopkeepers who confused it with the 1 rupee coin but is now widely accepted.
