About Hawaiian Coinage
Coins minted for the Kingdom of Hawaii before annexation. The 1847 large cent featured King Kamehameha III. The 1883 silver coinage included a dime, quarter, half dollar, and dollar. Featured King Kalakaua. The Hawaiian dollar is the most collectible, with a mintage of only 46,000. After annexation in 1898, Hawaiian coins were redeemed and melted. Surviving Hawaiian coins are rare and valuable.
