Fijian Dollar
About Fijian Dollar
The Fijian dollar has been used since 1867 with interruptions. Fiji used British currency from 1873 to 1934, then reintroduced the Fijian pound and later dollar. Fijian banknotes feature Queen Elizabeth II until 2013, when they were replaced with local flora and fauna designs. The coins feature traditional Fijian items. The Reserve Bank of Fiji was established in 1984. Fiji is one of the most developed Pacific island economies, based on tourism, sugar, and garments.
