About Chinese Fengshen Coin
A Chinese coin type featuring mythological scenes from the Fengshen Yanyi, the popular Chinese novel about the deification of ancient heroes. These are not official government issues but private or temple tokens. They demonstrate the intersection of religion, literature, and numismatics in Chinese culture. Similar temple coins were produced for Buddhist and Taoist temples throughout Chinese history.
