About Euro 50 Cent
The 50 euro cent coin features each countrys national design on the obverse and a map of Europe on the reverse. Made of Nordic Gold, a copper alloy with aluminum, zinc, and tin that looks gold but contains no actual gold. Over 8 billion have been minted. The Finnish 50 cent features a heraldic lion. The Italian version depicts Marcus Aurelius. The German coin features an oak branch. The Vatican 50 cent is scarce and collectible.
