Euro
About Euro
The worlds second most traded currency after the dollar. Introduced electronically in 1999, with notes and coins following in 2002. Initially used by 12 countries, now used by 20 EU members. The euro is the official currency of over 340 million people. The design of euro banknotes features architectural styles from classical to modern, with no real buildings to avoid national bias. Euro coins have a common reverse but national obverse designs. Over 30 billion coins are in circulation.
