About Danish Krone
Introduced when Denmark joined the Scandinavian Monetary Union with Sweden and Norway. The union dissolved in 1914 but all three countries kept their kroner. The Danish krone is pegged to the euro. Greenland uses the Danish krone with distinct Greenlandic motifs. The Faroe Islands have their own version of the krone. Denmark has opted out of the euro through an exemption in the Maastricht Treaty.
