About Greek Didrachm
A two drachma silver coin. The didrachm was used for larger transactions. Many Greek colonies in Italy minted didrachms with beautiful designs. The didrachm of Taras showed a dolphin rider. These coins are considered among the finest examples of ancient Greek art. The didrachm was roughly equivalent to a days wages for a skilled craftsman in classical Greece.
