About Czechoslovak Koruna
Established after the breakup of the Austro-Hungarian Empire in 1918. Initially pegged to the US dollar. Split into Czech and Slovak korunas in 1993 after the Velvet Divorce. The Czech koruna is still used today while Slovakia adopted the euro in 2009. The Czech koruna is one of the stronger central European currencies. The word koruna means crown in Czech.
