About Cleveland Centennial Half
A commemorative half dollar marking the centennial of Cleveland as a city. Featured a bust of Moses Cleaveland, the city founder, surrounded by models of progress. Only 50,000 were minted. The Cleveland half dollar is moderately scarce and valued by commemorative collectors. The coin was sold at the Great Lakes Exposition of 1936. The reduced demand for commemorative coins after the speculative boom of the mid 1930s affected sales.
