About US Classic Head Cent
Featured Liberty with a classical hairstyle, hence the name Classic Head. Minted from 1808 to 1814. The Classic Head cent is scarce in all grades. The 1811 cent is the key date. The design was criticized for Libertys immature appearance. Replaced by the Coronet or Matron Head cent in 1816. Classic Head cents were made of pure copper, weighing 5.4 grams.
