About Cincinnati Music Center Half
A controversial commemorative half dollar marking the 50th anniversary of Cincinnati as a music center. Featured Stephen Foster on the obverse. The coin was authorized by a congressman who profited personally from the issue. Only 5,000 were minted. The Cincinnati half dollar is one of the most valuable classic commemoratives due to its low mintage and the scandal surrounding its issuance.
