About Canadian Silver Quarter
Canadian quarters minted before 1968 contain 80 percent silver. Featured the reigning monarch on the obverse and a caribou on the reverse. The caribou design was introduced in 1937 and remains today. Silver quarters were replaced by nickel versions in 1968. Over 500 million silver quarters were minted. The 1947 ML (modifier large) dot variety is scarce and valuable.
