About Belarusian Ruble
Belarus is the only former Soviet republic that still uses the ruble. The Belarusian ruble has been redenominated twice, removing a total of 8 zeros. The National Bank of Belarus was established in 1992. Belarusian banknotes feature historical buildings and cultural motifs. The ruble is not freely convertible. Belarus has maintained closer economic ties with Russia than any other former Soviet republic, including a proposed union state.
