British bullion coins featuring Britannia, the female personification of Britain. The gold Britannia contains one troy ounce of pure gold. The silver Britannia was introduced in 1997. The design of Britannia changes periodically, making some years more collectible. Philip Nathan created the original standing Britannia design. The coins are minted by the Royal Mint at Llantrisant in Wales.
