About US Bicentennial Half Dollar
Featured Independence Hall on the reverse. Dated 1776-1976. Over 521 million minted. The design by Seth G. Huntington won a national competition. The obverse retained the Kennedy portrait but was dated dual year. Available in both clad and 40 percent silver. Many Americans saved these coins as souvenirs, making them scarce in circulation for years afterward.
