About US Bicentennial Dollar
The Eisenhower dollar with a special reverse featuring the Liberty Bell superimposed over the moon. Designed by Dennis R. Williams. Over 117 million minted including silver versions. The design commemorated both American independence and the Apollo moon landing. The Bicentennial dollar was the first US coin to bear a dual date. The silver clad version weighs more than the standard issue.
