About Bar Kokhba Coin
Coins struck by Jewish rebels during the Bar Kokhba revolt against Rome from 132 to 136 AD. Made by overstriking Roman coins with Jewish designs including the Temple facade, Torah ark, lulav, and ethrog. The inscriptions were in paleo Hebrew, including For the freedom of Jerusalem and Shimon, referring to the rebel leader. Bar Kokhba coins are extremely rare and important artifacts of Jewish resistance to Roman rule.
