About Austrian Crown
Also called the krone. Replaced the gulden when Austria-Hungary adopted the gold standard. The crown was a modern decimal currency of 100 heller. After World War I, the crown suffered catastrophic hyperinflation in both Austria and Hungary. Austria redenominated twice before replacing the crown with the schilling in 1925. The crown period was brief but represents Austria-Hungary at its industrial peak.
