About Albany Half Dollar
A commemorative half dollar marking the 250th anniversary of the charter of Albany, New York. Featured a beaver gnawing on a tree on the obverse and settlers arriving on the reverse. Only 25,013 were minted. The Albany half dollar is moderately scarce. The beaver design represents the fur trade that was central to the early Albany economy. The coin was sold during Albanys charter jubilee celebration.
